Varnish Tape is a roll of tape made of varnish paper (a special type of crinkled paper) coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive (such as rubber or acrylic glue).
Easy to Tear: No tools are needed; it can be easily torn by hand for convenient use.
Easy to Peel: After the work is completed, it can be cleanly peeled off from the attached surface, usually without leaving residue or damaging the surface.
Temperature Resistance: Most textured paper tapes have a certain level of temperature resistance, which can protect the covered area under a certain high-temperature condition, and are often used in environments such as spray painting and baking finish.
Adhesion: It has a soft texture and can adhere well to uneven surfaces and curved parts.
Main Uses: It is mainly used as a shielding tool, and is widely applied in industries such as spray painting, coating, electronics, construction, and automobile manufacturing. It protects areas that do not need to be sprayed or contaminated to achieve clear and neat color lines.
Textured Paper Tape can be classified according to its temperature resistance, viscosity, color, and special functions.
Low-Temperature Textured Paper Tape
Temperature Range: Usually 60℃ to 80℃.
Features and Uses: It has low viscosity, and is mainly used in occasions that do not require high temperature, such as ordinary room-temperature spray painting, decoration shielding, packaging fixation, and electronic component protection. The most common type is beige ordinary masking paper.
Medium-Temperature Textured Paper Tape
Temperature Range: Usually withstands 80℃ - 120℃.Features and Uses: It has moderate viscosity and is the most commonly used model for automobile repair painting and ordinary industrial painting. It comes in various colors (such as blue, green, and beige), and different colors sometimes represent different viscosity and grades.
High-Temperature Textured Paper Tape
Temperature Range: Usually withstands 120℃ - 200℃ or even higher.Features and Applications: Made with heat-resistant adhesives and paper, this product is designed for high-temperature environments such as automotive OEM painting, high-temperature spraying of metal parts, and powder coating. Common colors include pink, white, and green.
Low Adhesion: Suitable for fragile surfaces such as wallpaper, freshly painted walls, PVC, and glass, and will not cause damage when removed.
Medium Adhesion: Universal type, suitable for most surfaces such as metal, wood, and plastic.
High Adhesion: Suitable for rough or uneven surfaces such as cement walls, bricks, and rough plates to provide stronger adhesion.
Anti-Static Textured Paper Tape
Features: It has low surface resistance to prevent static accumulation.Application: Used in the electronics industry to cover PCB boards and precision components to prevent static damage.
Residue-Free Textured Paper Tape
Features: The special adhesive ensures no residue after removal.Use: Applicable to scenarios with high cleanliness requirements, such as optical glass, LCD screens, and stainless steel surfaces.
For ordinary interior decoration, gluing, and packaging: Choose low-temperature textured paper tape.
For automobile repair painting and ordinary industrial spraying: Choose medium-temperature textured paper tape.
For high-temperature paint booths, powder coating, and electronic circuit board wave soldering: High-temperature textured paper tape must be selected.
Note: If the temperature resistance grade is insufficient, the tape will carbonize and crack, and the glue will melt and remain on the workpiece, causing cleaning difficulties.
Vulnerable Surfaces (such as latex paint walls, wallpaper, newly sprayed surfaces): Choose low-adhesive textured paper tape, and test it in an inconspicuous area before pasting.
Smooth Surfaces (such as glass, metal, smooth plastic): Either low-viscosity or medium-viscosity tape is acceptable.
Rough Surfaces (such as cement walls, plaster, brick surfaces): Choose high-adhesion textured paper tape to ensure airtightness.
Electronics Industry: Choose anti-static textured paper tape.
Surfaces with Zero Tolerance for Residues: Choose residue-free textured paper tape.
Need to Cover but Avoid Surface Scratches: Consider using varnish tape (a more advanced and durable version of textured paper tape).
Width: Select the appropriate size based on the width of the covered area. Common sizes include 9mm, 12mm, 18mm, 24mm, 36mm, and 48mm.
Length: Select the roll length based on workload.
Base Thickness and Toughness: Thicker base material has better tensile strength and is less likely to break when pulled.
